Today I wanna talk about my favorite new past time, going on morning hikes and enjoying these incredible tahini bites. The best part is I am OBSESSING over these eco-friendly shirts that are not only ultra comfortable but also great for hikes, coffee friend dates and SO much more. I love the shirts cause they are bright and are great for the environment since they are made out of recycled material.

Earlier this year I promised myself that I would do more to contribute to the plant, because of all the wonderful gifts + blessings that mama earth has given me. SO in return, I am trying to wear more eco-friendly clothes and ditch the other not good for the planet kind. I am actually trying to ditch as much as I can to help out the planet.  To the point that I am planning on donating all of the non-eco kind of clothes and everything else when I leave to Colorado in a couple months.

Okay so back to these tahini energy bites. I use cacao powder, he shou wu, raw tahini, Medjool dates and a few other goodies to create these beauties. I love using Wild Way hot cereal in my energy bites, they ingredients are clean and make my life easier. PLUS they are full of healthy fats + omega threes.

These bites are so good, I kind of don’t wanna share. I went on a hike earlier today with a friend of mine and I have to say there was a part of me that didn’t want to let her know I had these, but then I thought, I should share, cause you know. Sharing is caring.

The inspiration for these tahini energy bites came from a latte from my herbalist friend Alyssa who shared it way back when on Instagram and it featured sesame seeds and he shou wu.


Sesame seeds have incredible health benefits ranging from balancing our hormones, improving blood pressure, and a great source of fiber, magnesium, and iron. Oh and tahini is pureed sesame seeds, aka turned into sesame seed butter. Which is a good source of methionine that helps our liver detoxify.  It is also really good at maintaining a healthy skin and muscle tone. Oh, and it’s a 20% complete protein, making these energy bites full of healthy fats, protein and basically a great boost of energy. Cause these tiny little seeds are full of healthy unsaturated fat. THE GOOD KIND


I know you all know my love for medicinal plants aka adaptogens. One of my favorite Chinese herbs is He Shou Wu for its great liver and kidney aid. I also love how great it is for fortifying our muscle, tendons and bones. Basically, this is one superfood you def wanna add to your daily eats.

Tahini Energy Bites + Morning Hikes


1 cup of raw almonds

4 Medjool dates, see note

1/2 cup of tahini

1 packet of Wild Way Cinnamon Roll Hot Cereal

1/4 cup of collagen peptides

2 T of coconut oil

1/2 tsp of cinnamon + he shou wu

2-3 T of black sesame seeds to coat


In a food processor add the dates, tahini, coconut oil and the collagen peptides until smooth. Then add the rest of the ingredients, and pulse until you have a smooth consistency. I like to leave a few almond chunks in there.
