HOW I DO MORNINGS + ADAPTOGENIC HOT CHOCOLATE

If you’ve been following along for a while now then you know I am a morning person, wake up-by-5AM kind of morning person. I love waking up early, the world is still quiet and dark and there is something about making something hot to drink and just sit with my thoughts, journal a bit and chill the F out before I let the world in and start my day.

I wake up and do a light stretch in bed and head towards my kitchen to turn on my stove and bring to a boil, my already filled stovetop kettle. I love this kettle it is part of my morning ritual and a gift from my momma bear. I know, I know a lot of people are totally into the electric ones but there is something comforting about the stovetop kettle. I like to keep it filled with water at all times to make it easier and also to bring water to a boil quicker.

While I wait for the water to boil, I gather all my ingredients and also grab a big mason jar and fill it 3/4 of a way up with filtered room temp water and then finish it off with the almost boiling water. Once the water comes to a boil, I turn it off. Make my bed while I drink the mason jar of water and then head back to the kitchen to make hot chocolate. There is something comforting about hot chocolate and especially during the fall + winter months. Actually, to be frank, I drink hot chocolate all year long, since mornings here in abq. are always chilly.  It brings me some sort of peace and I also LOVE that I can switch up the adaptogens as I please and with what I need for the day. I’m also not gonna lie but I love adding some of the herbal coffee I grab every time I am in Boulder or that I order when I haven’t seen it around. Depending on the season I will either go for a walk with hot chocolate or I will drink it while journaling.

So tell me, babes, how do you morning? I wanna know.
