Hey buggies! I hope you all have some exciting 4th of July plans! For those of you starting to plan your 4th of July celebrations, I’ve gathered up some of my favorite summer recipes along with the perfect wellness guide to rock out they healthy way this 4th!
While I’m pretty sure I will get a 50/50 on this, I am one of the few people who would much rather relax, kick back during the holidays with my friends and loved ones than partying it up and getting drunk.
Truth be told I rather relax and chill 99.9% of the time than go out drinking. A lot of this has to do with me not drinking anymore, for health reasons and also I like to feel comfortable in the environment I’m in.
I have this awesome little Vegan Raspberry Cheesecake Jars and you can totally make them for patriotic by adding a mixture of berries. I’m thinking of making these, with blueberries, raspberries and some blackberries.
The best part is you can totally make these babies ahead of time.
This gluten free Chocolate Cake would be perfect for the 4th! You can again switch up the berries and make a festive decoration.
This Hibiscus Iced Tea is the perfect refreshing drink to serve this holiday season, with the summer heat spiking up, the mixture of cold brew hibiscus and lime juice makes for the perfect hand buddy! Not only is it mega hydrating the color is chic.
These Hawaiian inspired turkey bacon burgers would make a fantastic entrance for your party. I like serving them topless with only the bun on the bottom. You can arrange everything on a large platter and make it a make your own burger station!
WHAT YOU NEED
2 lbs of ground turkey, I like using dark meat, it makes for a juicer burger
1/2 lb of cut up bacon, you want to to be small since it’s being mixed into your turkey meat
1/2 cup of each green onion + cilantro, finely chopped
salt + pepper to season the meat, I used about a little over a tsp
one large pineapple, peeled and cored, then cut into 1/2 in rings
Coconut oil to grill the pineapple, about 1 tablespoon
arugula to serve
sliced tomatoes to serve
gluten free buns
avocado oil mayo, mustard and ketchup to serve
WHAT TO DO
In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, chopped bacon, chopped green onion + cilantro and some salt + pepper. Combine, careful not to over mix, just until everything is fully mixed.
Form, each burger I use 1/2 lb to make each burger since I like them on the larger side.
I made mine in my inside grill, you can totally make it in your outside grill.
I rub the pineapple with coconut oil before grilling.
Grill or cook your turkey burgers, 10-12 minutes on one side, then 8-10 minutes on the other side. Put them aside for 3-5 minutes to rest.
The grill your pineapple until they are golden brown.
Arrange everything on a platter and enjoy!
I hope everyone has an amazing fourth of July this year and stays safe!
