What I’m Loving Lately: New Sleeping Hack Relaxium Sleep, Smoothies and More
I honestly cannot believe how quickly the summer is flying by. What blows my mind, even more, is that I moved here at the beginning of the summer, Memorial Day weekend and we are already half way through August. I feel like life has definitely started to settle in and I feel more at home, the first two months were a combination of what the hell am I doing and also trying to navigate all the sudden changes that were happening in my life. Despite all the chaos of life, things are really great. I have so much to look forward to the next few weeks and honestly, the transition of summer to fall has me geeking out way hard.
HANGING AT THE LAKE.
Taking advantage of the last couple weeks of summer, my mom and I went on a hike yesterday to Hanging Lake near Vail here in Colorado so it was about a two and half hour drive from Denver, and it was the perfect reset button I needed and also friendly reminder from the universe on how blessed I am to live in Colorado. The hike itself is 2 miles round trip but the incline, bro we had to do multiple stops on our way up. Totally worth the trip, highly highly recommend it. The hike up is really pretty and you get random shots of colder air which is amazing as you go up.
THE NEW SLEEPING HACK: RELAXIUM SLEEP
Babes I kid you not, I crashed so hard last night, I mean I was in the middle of typing up this post and fell asleep and woke up at the usual time, three in the morning.
I’m not sure why, but since my move from Albuquerque, my sleep has been a bit wonky, (dropped caffeine to see if that helped) and I recently discovered Relaxium Sleep and honestly LOVE it. I use this with magnesium calm and the combination has definitely improved not only the quality of my sleep but also I feel like it has helped me overall with my mood. The ingredients are mega clean using a combination of valerian root, hops, ashwagandha, GABA, chamomile, passion flower, and melatonin.
I love that they include ashwagandha into the mix, and since I already use it on a daily basis it’s been such a great addition to my supplement routine. I’ve been using Relaxium Sleep every night for the last three weeks and waking up in the middle of the night or just feeling tired during the day is gone which is amazing and last night when I fell asleep mid-post, I forgot to take my Relaxium Sleep and I woke up in the middle of the night like before.
Verdict. LOVE IT.
Tropical Summer Superfood Smoothie
Growing up my mom would often make something similar to this tropical summer smoothies, unlike the one my mom made this one is completely dairy-free and uses a few of my favorite ingredients to create a superfood filled smoothie to keep you energized all summer long.
Blend all of the following ingredients until completely smooth:
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup of frozen pineapple and peaches
1 cup of coconut water
2 T of coconut butter + hemp seeds
1/2 cup of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
2 inches of ginger
2 tablespoons of collagen peptides
TRUST. This tropical summer superfood smoothie is crazy amazing, the hemp seeds and coconut butter keep it creamy and also full of healthy fats that keep you full longer. I like the addition of ginger for not only does it give it a spicy kick but also it’s energizing properties.
SAINT MARY’S GLACIER IS A REAL LIFE SOUND OF MUSIC
Right before my move to celebrate that I was moving from Boulder to Denver, my friend and I went on a very early morning hike to Saint Mary’s Glacier, while the hike itself it’s very long, it was mega scenic and view was breathtaking.
I made the mango tropical fat balls and infused them with Ripple so we had a couple before our hike, HIGHLIGHT of the trip for sure was that we saw this guy skiing, first of all, I really didn’t expect to see snow from last season still there but what tripped me out more was the fact that someone was legit out there.
We ended up staying in the area hanging out before grabbing our food and having breakfast.
WHAT’S NEXT TO COME.?
My mom and I are planning a small day hike for her birthday towards the end of September and a few friends and I are going camping maybe after Labor Day, as for the holiday itself I still don’t have any plans. I am gonna try to make a hike a week until then, keep you all updated on the next Loving Lately Post! Enjoy the hell out of your hump day and have a beautiful rest of your week, love you all!
