All Natural Cold Remedies

As you babes know I take a holistic approach when it comes to my health, eating and just about everything. I totally take the holistic route when it comes to living and fixing anything that might be off. When I’m sick, I reach for natural remedies and real ingredients to help heal me. I pretty much lean towards the same thing each time.

ALL NATURAL REMEDIES

I thought with the seasons changing, the air getting crisper and colder and all the traveling that well be taking place, it was time to finally put this list of mine together. A lot of you have asked in the past what I like to use, how I heal myself and my favorite products.

When it comes to getting myself back on track, I will say the most important thing other than rest is TONS of liquids. Keeping yourself hydrated is a must. I lean towards tons of warm water, and add vital protein beauty water because not only do they taste great but they also have a lot of health benefits. Keeping you gut healthy will definitely get you back on track.

I also like to sip on bone broth, with some apple cider vinegar.  My favorite bone broth to use is Pressery, it is local here in Colorado and I love being able to use local companies that I am extremely passionate about. You can read more about why I love bone broth here. You can totally make your own bone broth, there are tons of recipes out there.

BONE BROTH not only is bone broth really good for your gut, it is incredibly good for your immune system. You know the saying when your sick eat chicken soup, or something among those lines, there is a reason for that. It’s good for the soul and the body.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR I add it to my bone broth, because it helps kill bacteria and any viruses going around. ACV helps alkalinize your body which is what helps kill of any nasties going on. You can also add this to the water you are sipping on, I do this and it really does make a difference.

GARLIC – is a HUGE powerhouse when it comes to natural antibiotic, antibacterial and anti fungal. I like to add 2-3 cloves of finely minced garlic into my bone broth or even just into warm water. Drink quickly, there’s a chance you might not taste it if you’re really sick. If you are then get ready for the kick. SO WORTH it thought. TIP: While garlic can make my stomach feel off, I eat some roasted sweet potato to have something in my tummy before hand.

OMIT DAIRY – dairy can create more mucus in the body which can make the recovery process take a bit longer.

BONE BROTH GET WELL TONIC – heat up your bone broth or veggie broth (if you want to keep it vegan or plant based) pour in a mug, add the minced garlic, and a shot of apple cider vinegar. Drink quickly once it is cool enough or if you don’t mind the spice, sip slowly.

BOOST YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

ECHINACEA – can help boost your immune system. You can buy it in tea, or the herb and make you own tea. You can buy it in tincture form or even make your own. I buy it in bulk from Mountain Rose Herbs right here.

ELDERBERRY SYRUP -is another great way to boost your immune system. You can buy it or make it yourself. I really like this brand right and buy it on Amazon. I’m also a HUGE fan of this one from – because they have a nighttime version. It is a great sleep aid when feeling off.

VITAMIN D–  either from grapefruit juice or orange juice or skip it all together and go for vitamin d capsules. This is a great way to help you kick that cold on the butt.

Alright babes, there you have it some of my go to natural remedies to kick that cold on the butt.
