My Favorite Bulletproof Iced Matcha Latte

My Favorite Bulletproof Iced Matcha Latte is my go to recipe now during the summer months. I love starting my mornings with matcha but with the heat here in Albuquerque I am turning more towards this bulletproof iced latte route than my regular steaming creamy cup.

Happy MONDAY babes! If you follow me on than you know how much I love my matcha! I’ve bene getting a lot of questions on why I gave up coffee last year and have embraced matcha. When I got off my meds my doctor told me I could drink coffee every once in a while but it turned out that coffee was actually hurting my hormonal imbalance even more.

While I love coffee and miss it dearly, matcha has stepped into my life and I couldn’t be happier.

I love using hemp milk as a base cause,

one,  I get to make it myself without having to strain it!

two, it is easy peasy and full of omega 3 (yayyy!)

What I love most is that I get to add all of my favorite potions aka adaptogens into the mix and it makes the perfect yummy base for me to get all my superfoods in! SCOREEEE.!

I’ve talked about why I love adaptogen so much and how they have played a role with my balancing my manic depressive and my hormonal imbalance.

So the awesome thing about matcha is that it is filled with a large amount of antioxidants and the way I make it here I add tons of healthy fats.

Oh and another cool part is that the process to make this is mega easy.

Dump everything in your blender and you are ready to rock and matcha.

So consuming matcha is really good for us because it is full of vitamins, minerals, fiber and amino acids. The greatest antioxidants found in green tea is catechins.

Some health benefits are

+improves our immune system

+helps prevent cancer

+boost energy

+promotes weight loss

I’m gonna share my basic recipe with you babes and then put the different potions you can add

BASIC BULLETPROOF MATCHA RECIPE

2 cups of water

2 tablespoons of hemp seeds, I really love using Evo Hemp

1 pinch of salt

2 scoops of collagen peptides, I love using Vital Protein

2 tsp of high quality ceremonial matcha green tea powder

1/2 T of vanilla ghee, I love using Fourth & Heart

1 T of MCT oil or brain octane, whatever you prefer

1 tsp of cinnamon

POTIONS TO ADD

1/2 tsp – 1 tsp of the following

maca

ashwagandha

cordyceps

reishi

he shou wu

rhodiola

it’s important to keep it to tops 2-3 potions per latte, I always use ashwagandha and depending on my mood that day and how I am feeling I’ll add the other ones. Also people have been asking me if its normal for the adaptogens to taste like they smell and my recommendation is starting with a 1/4 of a tsp and then working your way up. Totally normal, at this point I can’t really taste them.

NEXT YOU

In a blender add the hemp seeds and water along with the salt. Blend on high for a minute or so until the milk is frothy and creamy. Then add the rest of the ingredients and whatever potions you want to use. Blend, blend baby and then pour over ice. YUM!

Enjoy!
